    Default Growing Prosthechea vitellina

Hello all, I have recently bought a Prosthechea vitellina, formerly called Encyclia vitellina. Here is a link to the information and picture of this orange beauty.

I would like all members who grow this specie and other cool growing orchids to contribute and share their experience. I am basically interested in knowing whether this plant will adapt to warm conditions, so if anyone is growing it in warm to conditions (80-90+ F) please let me know.

    Regards Amey

Hi, I'm new here and hope I can express myselp properly, because, maybe, my english is not enough for this. So, I will try and expect you all can be patient with my mistakes.
I loved this very nice Prosthechea! What a beautifull colour.

I had one years ago that I grew in my un-airconditioned apartment in Queens, NY. Summers regularly got into the 80's and it did not bother it at all. It bloomed twice a year for me. Sadly, I gave it away for some reason and have never been able to find another one.

    @ smwboxer
Thank you very much, that was very helpful. I think during the hottest months (April and May temp mid 90s) I will bring it inside my air conditioned room.

Hi Rosalia ! I am learning German and I know how difficult it is to express yourself. But unlike my German your English sounds perfect.
