Default Lc Elizabeth Off x Porcia

I purchased this plant several years ago while in Chicago. It comes from one of the growers outside of the city. The name has mostly worn off the label and I would like some help with the name.... What I can still read is: Lc XXXXXXX and under this is the cross for that name: Elizabeth Off x Porcia. So if someone can figure out what this cross was called, I thank you very much and will reward you with a picture of the flower which should be open in the next week or so!

According to Orchidwiz the cross has not been named. The names however have changed due to reindexing. The correct name of your cattleya (right now) is:

Cattleya Elizabeth Off x Cattianthe Porcia

    Cheers,
    BD

Thanks Bruce... So the portion of the label that I can't read would have been the "made-up" name that the individual who made the original cross may have given it but never registered his/her cross of C. Elizabeth Off x Cattianthe Porcia parents. And for now I will have to live with a very long name... LOL Thanks again.

It should have not been a made up name on label. It might have said Laeliocattleya

Ron, that's not exactly what I meant. You know sometimes on labels there might be a "given name" like 'Lc Heartthrob' and then the cross for that plant.... so since I don't know the 1st portion, I'll have to use just the parent's names.

Howard, I know but for a non registered chid there should be no name before the cross.

Howard if you know the name of the grower, ask him. I usually send the grower a photo of the bloom with my inquiry. Most growers are very obliging. Good luck.

Wish this was the case. I've sent the grower/vendor several emails and NEVER a reply! And this vendor is a major grower outside of Chicago in Hampshire, IL!

Well, here is the reward I promised those that helped me out with this plant's name. As I recall the flower was larger last time it flowered and as you can see the sepal didn't open and has a splash of color similar to that of the lip.

The rest of you will have the image blocked from view by my nifty difty screen blocker software!!!!!
