Specie Phal. keiki roots

A long time ago I read that some of the specie Phals . do not produce keikis that grow roots . I have an old one violacea malaya that would produce a keiki kind of, 2 leaves but never any roots , it would just hang around , year before last it produced one and I applied a keiki root hormone to it it sat and sat then finally grew roots this year . Beginning to think there might be something to what I read . Gin

I have a fascieta /luddemania cross that grew a 2 leaved kieki last year..no roots...this year it grew the roots and another kieki which grew roots at the same time. I didn't use kieki paste ???????????? I guess they grow roots whenever the notion strikes.
