The plant belongs to subgenus Formosae as the canes resembles along its group like Dendrobium vogelsangii, Dendrobium dearei, Dendrobium sanderae, Dendrobium schuetzei, Dendrobium parthenium and others....

I haven't saw the natural habitat of the plant but the gatherer said that it came to Central Mindanao.

    Hi Decoy,

Your Dendrobium is a species which I believe will be described in the Philippine Orchid Review which is issued in conjunction with the opening of the POS Show in Quezon City.

I know what this species has been named, but I cannot reveal that until I am certain that the Philippine Orchid Review has been published.

It is irresponsible for a name to be used until it is validly published.

    Hi Randy,

I haven't got its name but I'll wait for Jim Cootes to publish his new book later this year.
I'm excited to know this specie.

I have been informed that the Philippine Orchid Review will be published in about 2 weeks. It could not be printed in time to be available at the POS Show, which I believe closes today.

As soon as the Philippine Orchid Review is published I will let you all know the name of this lovely species.

    Regarding my book:

I have sent a message to the publisher telling them that the book is now ready for publication. To this time I have not received any response from the publisher. Hopefully the book will be published this year. I will keep you good folk informed on what is happening with the publication.

    All the best,

Oh I can't wait for your new book Jim. I sure would like to buy a copy for me personal reference. I sure would like to know where to buy it locally in Manila and approximately how much it would cost so I can prepare and set aside a budget for it.

    What is the book title?

    I'm so excited already.

    Cheers!
