Default Cischweinfia rostrata - bark or moss?

Just got one of these today. Everything I read says to grow wet. Can I get away with bark? I really don't like sphag except for very small things. I have my Masdies in bark and they do fine. Pleeeeeeezzz tell me bark is OK.

Anything else you would care to tell me about this one would also be most appreciated. I'm already in love with it and it doesn't even have flowers.

k

I have mine in a fine bark, sphag moss, and perlite. One of them loved it , the other one didn't love it so much I might end up mounting the one I have left on a good size bed of moss and see what happens.

All I found out was what you said, it likes to be moist , How about Spag. layered with larger perlite ? The thing I don't like about bark is you can't stick your finger in it to see how wet it is . Just a thought . Gin

It's in bark right now. I had to put it in something for the night. I know the person I got it from had it in sphag because the roots were full of it (sphag, that is).

That idea of a layer of sphag might not be a bad idea. If I remember correctly from my readings, that's the way it grows on trees. I just don't like pots full of that stuff.

What to do, what to do..................
