    Default Paraphalaenopsis serpentilingua culture

I was wondering if anyone in the forum has or had this species and if so, did it ever bloom for you and what conditions worked best for this species? I've had mine for just over a year and a half and all I can get out of it is occasionally it will throw out a big fat root with very little foliage growth.

All Paraphal are slow grower. It takes a long time(over a year in some cases) to mature a new leaf. If the plant is healthy and growing, you are doing fine.

I/W grower, good humidity, bright shade(1800~2000FC), moist during the growing season but slighly drier in winter. I grow my Paraphals on mounts.

Thank you, Tom. What you have described is almost exactly the conditions I provide for it. It is mounted on cork bark with a small piece of sphagnum and wrapped with a bit of coconut husk fiber. Looks like I'll have to very patient with this one.

Grow it as warm as you can provide. Best is if the night time temp never fall below 18'C. I grow mine mounted on a cork and just lay flat underlight, very close to the tubes and have about 8"+ growth on the leaf a year so, I must be doing great. lol The leaf are about 10"+ long, and Im hoping it bloom this year. =)
