    Default Amesiella philippinensis

Anyone growing this species? I got two very tiny seedlings, leaves just over 1" long. At the moment, I am growing them with the Phals. What I'm wondering is if this require a dry winter rest, and how much heat can it take.

    I appreciate any tips, thanks.

I have one of this too Tanya... mine is also a baby so would be interesting to get feedbacks from the more experienced growers. Mine is growing under a skyroof, so gets a lot of light. It sends out a root, sends out a little leaf and it does this really slowly so maybe mine is not the best growing condition... oh and no artificial heat so would like to know what temp condition they like.

    TIA.

    Cheers
    Tim

I saw one being sold in bloom at the shop when I bought mine and the flowers are quite large compare to the plant. The plants are no bigger than a small seedling of standard Phal. Leaves maybe about 2" long. Maybe it will be another year before I could see mine in bloom, if it survive. Good luck to yours, Tim.

Anyone else growing Amesiella? Would love to hear more info. TIA.

I've never grown this one: looks like you two might have to be the experimenters!

    Uh oh.......

Hey Kevin, you are after mini orhids, are you not? Why don't you try Amesiella philippinensis? Really neat and tiny, they say the flowers are long lasting .

    Here's a pic of mine.

    amesiella don't like moss actually
or u may put the moss under the root

it grows slowly and flower stem also..they prefer coconut for growing.

if yours is amesiella monticola..it dares a cooler climate.

There would be no way of telling if this is really Amesiella phlippinensis or monticola until it blooms. The reason I used the moss is that it is growing in windy location and the roots dry up really quick.

    Thanks for the input.
