    Default Leptotes bicolor - Am i getting flowers or growth

    Hi all,
    Im pretty excited as if this is what i hope it is it will be the first flowering since i obtained it a few months back. Can anyone confirm for me what it is there is also signs of another growths on the back leaves but too small to capture properly.

    Hmmmm. Jason, it is hard to tell. I have one of those and it has doubled the size in a year. If you have seen how a brassavola puts out its spike, the leptotes puts out its spike just like that. It come out of the center of the leaf.

    Probably growth then knowing my luck not that im knocking growth.
    I had a look at one of BDs pics and that has just confuzzeled me even more

    That is a new growth, Jason. The flower spikes should appear at the base of a leaf, not the base of a pbulb.

    When you do get a spike or spikes on your Leptotes bicolor, you have to have patience. It seems like mine took forever to go from spike to bloom. And since my plant is potted instead of mounted like most that I see posted here, my blooms looked upside down to me. Weird and cool orchid anyhow. Hope you see some spikes soon too!

    Oh, it is one you will learn so well growing orchids. (I am still learning it... ) Wish there was a magic pill that I could take that would give me more patience - especially with new orchids that I haven't bloomed before. heheh..
