    Default Embreea rodigasiana bud blast

My Embreea has shot out several spikes which looked great - then the most mature of them blasted the bud....

Conditions have been pretty well maintained, good air, light....no watering troubles...and a Stan embreei (a cousin, I'd guess you'd say) has just opened it's first blooms and is doing really well (no access to a digital camera, otherwise I'd post, they're pretty spectacular)

Anyway, whatever thoughts anyone might have would be appreciated; if I can make the necessary changes, whatever they may be, there's still four or five spikes I can save......

I had to look that one up , thought I would post the info. on it . The only thing I can guess is maybe to dry ?I would of said to wet because of my rotting Stan. buds on one I had . But according to what the info. says it likes wet . I would assume no bugs on the buds , or fruit nearby . sorry I am not more help . Gin
The Embreea genus has only one species and it is found in Colombia and Ecuador. These epiphytes grow in very wet cloud forests. A four-angled pseudo bulb with a single leaf characterizes this genus. The bloom of this genus resembles that of the Stanhopea. It is has a long pendulous, single-flowered inflorescence. The Embreea need intermediate conditions with abundant water year-round. They grow best in hanging baskets that allow the pendulous inflorescence to emerge through the bottom of the basket. The pseudo bulbs of this species are about 3 inches tall and are densely clustered with a single leaf up to about 18 inches long and 6 inches broad. The flower is about 5 1/2 inches across. Flowering is from summer to autumn.

It seems to have been humidity; only lost one bud, the rest are continuing to develop.......
