rupicolous Laelias

This is a discussion on rupicolous Laelias within the Genus Specific forums, part of the Orchid Culture category; Apologies. The only term for a rock grower I knew of was lithophyte....

    No worries Scopinox...I had to hunt up an old article I remembered in Orchid Digest...that's the only reason I knew what 'rupicolous' meant.

    I always thought the term was kind of silly, myself.

    "Rupicolous" is just a little too close to "ridiculous"; i.e., "ridiculous Laelias..."

    You got that right Louis...and I think "ridiculous" could apply to a lot of this orchid hoopla...I just wonder about the whole obsession sometimes...
