    Default Cattlyea BiColor

    I have a Cattlyea BiColor that has a sheath. Cool. *But*, I noticed that seemingly overnight, it has put out a new growth that is about 2" big now. Does this mean the sheath will not develop a spike, or is that something that happens mainly with oncidiums?

    Catts do throw out sheaths that don't bud. This year I have had the same problem, sheath but no blossom, with a lot of new growth going on. I'm still hoping that some will produce buds.... but I don't see how the plant will have the energy to do both grow and bloom.

    I have several that put on growth while growing a sheath , or has one and sits for a long time it seems before filling with buds . It does seem this year I am getting multiple growths too . Gin
