I am in the hot and humid swampy city of Philadelphia with no a/c. Did all the photos look like fungus to you, or just the new growth one?
a few ditzels here and there don't always imply significant infection, but those larger spots might need to be treated. fungal infections tend to be subacute, i.e. you will rarely lose a plant in two days to a fungus.
basal rot (bacterial) is a more serious disease, and affects my plants during the heat of summer. back during that blackout I lost half a dozen plants since it was about 90 degrees and humid and stagnant for >48 hours. now I just leave the a/c on if it's supposed to be 90+ out, and if the a/c is off, I blast a fan at the plants.
