I've tried getting resurrection ferns to grow on a few orchid mounts. The stems and leaves, even after they fall off, look green and healthy. But the roots never produce any new stems...?? Any tips there?

I've been doing pretty well growing the ferns in a shallow bonsai type container, with large pieces of pine bark below them. But the mounted ferns are more of a challenge, I guess. The one in my earlier pic is just a brown stub at this time. I guess the mount doesn't stay moist enough for it?

Resurrection fern seems to be SLOWLY growing for me on a native oak branch as knocked down by a storm and saved. The bark is breaking down, so yeah it retains moisture. I haven't intentionally tried to grow it otherwise (actually only caring for this one for the epi magnoliae in with it) but it is EVERYWHERE around here, on building sides and everything. Maybe a little sphagnum for the moisture?
