    Default Double Sheathed Catt

I have a wonderfull large Catt that I bought from Forrest a few months ago. It had the beginnings of a sheath when I got it. The sheath grew very large/long and then - - a growth inside it!! But, the growth stayed flat and looked like it was another sheath. I waited, impatiently as usual, and then the second 'sheath' began to swell. I was happy - (Forrest told me to be patient). Today, I took a good look at the sheath/bud in bright light, and - there are two sheaths, with buds in the inner sheath. And they were out of the inner sheath, but the outer sheath was still sealed. So I peeled the outer sheath open and away from the inner sheath (It was already turning slightly yellow) Viola! 4 count em, 4 buds on the stem! The largest is already about 3" long.

So - has anyone else had this happen? A first for me!

PS - THANKS FORREST!!! Can't wait till they open!!

labiata and warneri are two species noted for having a double sheath. I suppose it's variably passed onto the hybrids as well.
