Default Cattleya Bc. Maikai 'Louise' AM/AOS

I couldn't resist this. This is Bc. Maikai 'Louise' AM/AOS, a primary cross of Brassavola nodosa X Cattleya bowringiana. The cross was registered in 1944 and this was probably awarded shortly after. I couldn't pass this up! There are at least 16 spikes coming on this and it badly needs repotting. It is currently in a 5" pot. Now I HAVE TO BUILD MY GREENHOUSE because I have no place to properly keep this long term.

I hope it does great for you! (I have never had any success blooming any of the Maikai line -- the various clones or hybrids made with Maikai. )

What a specimen. I understand you couldn't pass it up. I wouldn't have been able either. The blooms are marvelous. Must be quite a sight if all the spikes open at the same time.
