Default Paphiopedilum lalita, Paph Magic Lantern?

I am currently researching my orchid wish list and I like paph magic lantern and Paph lalita. I read that magic lantern was "easy to grow" but then found several sites that said it was NOT easy to grow. I really like Paph lalita but the grower states that it is for "collectors and advanced growers." I have been trying to figure out what about the P. lalita makes it for advanced growers but my Google searches have not been fruitful.
Any advice is appreciated. I love my Paph delenatti (so much so I am also looking at the var alba and the vini color) so am definitely interested in more paphs. I think I enjoy mottled leaves as much as flowers.

My memory of Paph Lalita I had 15 years ago is a sturdy little weed that stood out as easy among the other Brachy Paphs I had. There's nothing about it that makes it a challenging plant as far as I know. Perhaps the grower is admitting he bred with inferior weak growing parents.

If you are successful with Paph delenatii don't hesitate to try Magic Lantern and treat it just the same. If it doesn't respond you may have a plant that wants a bit of a cooler drier winter rest, but many Magic Lanterns are easy growers without the challenges of the micranthum parent. Try to find Magic Lantern with delenatii as the pod parent if you can.

Ultimately, the only way to know how a particular plant will respond in your environment is to try, as long as it doesn't have needs that are clearly beyond your ability to provide. Neither Lalita nor Magic Lantern would automatically fall in that category if you are successful with other plants.

Thank you Kirk for the helpful information. I feel very informed now to make my next purchase. Did not realize there was a difference with the pod parent. Now I know.
