Default Onc. Kahilli Big - keiki?

I've had this plant for 2 years, and it has continued to put out new leaves, slowly. I was giving all the 'chids a thorough visual inspection yesterday and noticed that it appeared that the newest leaves (less than an inch right now) are growing off the side of the main plant, like a basal keiki on a Phal. So, my question is, is this normal? Is this a keiki (like a phal)or do these plants develop multiple growths like other Oncs?
