Yes. Lot of good root and I suspect moss holding up to much of water. reduce the watering a bit and may be use a skewer to ascertain the need for watering. Physan 20 from what I know, is not phytotoxic so can be sprayed onto a spike. we don't get physan here so what i am saying is what i read in other forums. experts pls correct if i am wrong

Ok, so instead of spraying physan i just soak top part upside down in it (so the moss did not get more wet) unfortunately it did not help from buds turning the way i pictured before.
Could it be that they cant stand temp about 78F? Even though last week it was on low side of 70.

What an interesting forum. All of the ideas are wonderful. I grow my orchids in wine bottle cork, or lava rock. I have not lost any. The only real issue is watering the ones in cork. I like to dip the roots in a bucket to water, and the cork likes to pop out of some. My first experiment was with a phal in cork. It did extremely well, however now the plastic pot is too small. It is in all cork, do you thing I need to add a little bark?? I have to water the ones in cork every day.
I love to try new things.
Looking forward to hearing from y'all.
    Karen
