Hi Tami,
The pod is awfully fat these days, it looks like the delivery day is near ... heheheheeee ...
When McHic visited California, she did take a picture of the pregnant "Babe" along with Diane, the other surrogate MUM, I have not idea what she did with it. However, I will post a picture of the pregnant "BABE" as soon as I can snap one this weekend JUST FOR YOU!!!
Sincerely, Mr. DocSpockSeahorseDaddy!

Update
To whom it may concern (Just kidding, for Tami, especially!!!)
The pregnant Babe has been doing well and as you all can see, the pod has swollen significantly, and has started to have a yellowish tint. Personally, I think the gestation is almost over, delivery date is near. On July 21, it would be 6 months since pollination, ahemmm ... "Orchid Sex"!!! McJulie, you will have to decide soon when we should harvest the pod!
Cheers. DocSpockSeahorseDaddy.

OH, DocSpockSeahorseDaddy, B] Harvest [/b]is SUCH an ugly word when refering to the beautiful birth! "Delivery" is soooooo much better, don't you think?
PS thanks for the update and the pic!

Dear Seahorse Daddy just where did that come from, anyway?
End of the month should be about right. Let me confer with the Minister of Silly Moose Sacrifices. If you get concerned about coloration changes, throw a coffee filter around the pod. I did that for the last few weeks before harvesting my pod. I did see some slight yellowing, but it wasn't the "here it comes!" color change I was watching for.
For what it's worth, my pod was bigger, but Mildred is a a really big girl, so that could be the difference.

How about "chop off" or "whack it off with a knife" or "slit it at the base"?

I especially like the 'whack it' concept. So careful, hygenic, etc...
