    Default Encyclia cordigera

I've had this orchid for about a year and I've two of them actually. It's an Encyclia cordigera var. semi-alba.

This is how one of the orchids looked like a year ago.

This is how it looks now. From the latest pseudobulb you can see in the previous picture, 2 new pseudobulbs grew and they're very plump and healthy.

This is the other orchid, a year ago.

I can't show a picture of how the orchid looks now because it's behind one of my other orchids and the roots are attached to my window's grill, so I can't move the plant to get a better view of the whole orchid. A new pseudobulb grew, very plump and healthy. A couple of days ago I noticed something started to grow between the leaves, I guess it's a flower spike.

I hope to get a lot of flowers because the fragrance of this orchid is very pleasant

By the way, this type of orchid seems to be very forgiving about root damage. Any time a root gets damaged,a lot more roots grow.

Cordigera is easy to grow. Like most encyclias, the roots like a lot of air. I put them in almost empty plastic baskets with some charcoal to hold it in place.

    A new flower opened yesterday!

The old flower started to fade so I tried to self pollinating it. The seed pod is starting to form. I wanna try the process of germinate an orchid seed, I've been reading about the process for about a year and it's quite interesting.

BTW, the other encyclia is also producing flower spikes with 5 flower buds each one
