MTDM. ISSAKU NAGATA 'EMI'
I cannot find any info on 'Emi'. Does anyone have this orchid? I want to know if the plant I have has been correctly labeled. I've had it several months and it spiked red just in time for Christmas

I don't have this plant, but wouldn't it be great if it spiked every year at Christmas? Can't imagine a nicer Christmas orchid! Beautiful. So many of my red oncs are brownish--this one is a nice clear red.

Very Christmasy! It certainly is a rare colour for an oncidium (or at least near oncidium)...as Lynda noted, many are brown, or at least yellow. I really like it!

It's a gorgeous Onc, but I don't think it's labeled correctly. Onc. Issaku Nagata (no longer Mtdm. because both parents are now considered Onc's) is brown with yellow outer fringes on the petals, with a maroon to brown upper lip and a white lower lip. Yours isn't even close to that.
Still, it's a great NOID!

I love the look no matter what. Will continue to watch to see if any info turns up on 'Emi'. Thanks for the feedback!
