Sorry about your loss. Now....you clean that humidifier and get that nasty smell out of your room.

OH MY!!! Did it get down to 70? 60? and heaven forbid 50 degrees? Oh, that would be just too much to handle now, wouldn't it!!!!!

    hehe

Steven, where the lows are in the teens every night and who is waiting for the temps to get over ZERO in a particular location so someone can ship some plants to me!!!!

Sorry about your bloom, Smartie. I know my time is coming too - though I've not yet had enough blooms to be a threat to them LOL!

Yeah, we Floridians gripe about the cold too. I actually got to 29 here one night! Guess we don't have the thick skin acclimation that northerners have!
Thankfully it will be back in the 60s/40s range for the rest of the week. Now if the darn sun would just shine......

I hear you, Tami - after our freeze experience out here. Guess Florida and California trade off. Every 5 years or so one state or the other gets a BIG freeze. While I haven't thrown any of my cymbidiums away, hoping the bulbs will sprout, I did have 2 that lost all their leaves in the freeze. Course, it was well below 29 degrees....

And Steven - well, who made you move to Idaho?? I know, I know, my brother lives in Montana and you can't pry him out of there with a crowbar. I don't get it, he was raised in California, but went over to the cold side....

Sorry about the blast . I lost Catt. flowers on a plant during the power outage , even when the heater was on the fans were not running part of the time to scatter the heat .
Just a thought scale on a bloom stem will cause blast . Gin

    Thanks Gin.
I do have some mealy bugs that came with the vendor's plants, perhaps they caused it to blast. I am trying to control using rubbing alcohol, but they come back.

I can't find my neem oil. Are pyrethrins a good choice? Those chemicals derived from chrysanthemum

It was 37 the other morning when we got up. That is really really cold in my book.

I have found that Orange Guard works well against mealies, and you can use it indoors. Made from orange oil, the smell is pleasant and dissapates quickly. Also great against ants.
