You might of had a difficult time finding info on it because the proper name for the species is Epidendrum schlechterianum. I have some Epis in my collection but Knowing about Epis in general doesn't always help.
Here is a bit of info from Jay's site:

"A miniature sized, hot to warm growing, epiphytic or occassional lithophytic species found from central Mexico south through Central America, West Indies to Peru, Brazil and Suriname in humid oak forests, drier, open areas and dense rainforests on trees and rocks at elevations of 100 to 1100 meters with clustered, leafy stems enveloped by imbricate leaf bases carrying distichous, fleshy-coriaceous, ovate-lanceolate, acute leaves and blooms on a apical, single flowered, short inflorescence that has up to three erect flowers occuring in the spring and summer. Best grown on a cork mount and hung where it gets good air movement, bright light and frequent mistings.
