    Cool Cattleya in Sheath?

Sorry to be asking all these questions....there is just so much going on with my orchids right now....summer growth spurts and all. I'll post pic's below, but why if these are all from the same plant that I separated a few months ago, do some grow one way and others another? Ive seen lots of new growths on my catt's and always they look like little mouse ears as they grow. This one won't open....what's wrong with this leaf and do I open it manually????

Sometimes I have leaves that stick together a little too much and since once a new growth then didn't open at all (on a cymbidium, since their leaves are quite stiff and stuck to each other when they first come out), and so I have in the past help unstick them. Gently of course, but nothing has every looked damaged from my little pokes. I just help those leaves come apart a little.

(but I don't have any catts....)

    Connie,

I have several catts that produce new growths like this--they eventually pop open...don't worry!

Ahhh...okay. I'll let it alone and let it open when it's in the mood then.
    Thanx Again...

    Great to know.
I was worried too Connie. The earlier growth on my Tokyo Magic hasn't opened either while the second did. I guess I'll leave it alone.

You had me worried for a second, all the new growths on my two catts are like that. Glad to get the reassurance that it is normal afterall, it is way too early to be having heart attacks about my orchids today!
