Default Now the Oncids gotta go!

I guess my spring cleaning mode has carried over to my orchids as well. The oncids are really unhappy here with me in Colorado, there just isn't enough humidity.

I have three that I'm working on listing on orchid-bids for trade or sale. I'd happily take any Maxilaria or catt in trade for each one.

Bilra. Tahoma Glacier
Colm. jungle monarch 'everglades'
Brsdm. Shooting Star 'Black Gold'

All three plants are blooming size, and with exception of the Glacier have bloomed for me at least once.

Thanks for looking!

Yeah, I know what you mean! I have a lot of oncids, and some are in rebellion because of the lack of humidity and are all twisted and pleated. I, too, have been culling those plants; they would do fine in someone else's conditions. I think it's interesting how some oncids are very sensitive to the low humidity, but many others do a little pleating but still bloom wonderfully.

Yeah...if these guys could talk they'd be screaming "greenhouse, please!"

In truth they'd just be a lot happier even in some house in a not quite so dry climate. It's interesting how much drier it seems here in Colorado than it did in Montana even though we had less annual precipitation up there! These plants were happier there, so even noticed that little difference.
