Got one this spring, potted (I don't have much luck with mounted or non-potting material plants, vandas bare root in pots are the only ones that do fine for me) in rock. Put out three spikes this fall, one is still blooming (the first to open, and the biggest flowers by about half again). Grew outside during the summer, under about 50% shade, and under fluorescents indoors in my grow area during the rest of the year.

Yes, I think so. Just have to watch that she doesn't get too dry during the Santa Anas, or too much sun. They are natives of Mexico..
