Nepenthes
I believe there is someone (if my memory is right, hehehehe) that grows Nepenthes, Nelson maybe? Well here are a couple of pics of mine followed by some questions.
Questions
#1 Is this really a Nepenthes or Cantharifera or Flagellaria.(Are the last 2 really Nepenthes?)
#2 If it is a Nepenthes, what kind is it?
#3 What is the culture for this plant
#4 Lastly, how do I get it to reproduce the pitchers.
The plant with the pitchers still on it is a new one this year and the other one is 3 yrs. old and no longer has pitchers, just curly tendrils coming off the leaves.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
ischel

I know we rarely if ever fertilize ours. And we water it with rain water when we can. Have you put it outside for the summer? If not you should try that. It could help.
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Yup it's outside in the shade, should it be in the sun?

Shade only or lower light. Don't let it dry out too much. The leaves will turn brown quick.
Cheers,
BD

They also love to be misted. When the pitchers are growing mine wind around stuff like a vine. My nepenthes is on an East facing porch protecting my orchids from the sun and they love leftover orchid water. I almost killed mine from underwatering but i've learned and now am getting new pitchers and new growth.

Thanks guys for all the info. Sounds like I'm doing the right things, maybe not misting enough. I thought with the humidity up around 90% here almost all summer, that would be enough. Will try that Connie, BD and Gin for the responses.
