I love the tree frog photos. I once had a tree frog "hitchike" in one of the orchids I bought at the Sunday flea market. I didn't know that the frog was hiding in the moss-filled planting media. When I got home I placed the plant in a particular cool spot and forgot all about it. Later in the evening (it was a cool evening), I was perplexxed because I could hear the musical croaking of the tree frog. I had wondered how I could get a frog in my grow area when I live in a concrete townhouse in the city and after searching around with my small flashlight I found the tree frog sitting on top if the moss of the newly acquired plant. He was croaking as if he was looking for a mate or companion. I took pity on the poor fella so the following week I asked the vendor at the Sunday market if he got any more plants with frogs hiding. LOL!
Funny when these frogs croak in the evenings they lull me to sleep because I get this feeling that I am no longer in the city (a concrete jungle) and instead out somewhere living in the province. LOL!
yet another nocturnal visitor, just flew in our house and sticks around outside, guess for further hunts, love it!
That first shot of his face is really cool, Ron.
The first shot is so evil looking!
scary looking, isnt it? i particularly like that greyish part above the fangs, like an extra set of teeth.
i spotted the "birdpoo" and saw the color change just the next day.
and a few more days after it turned out to be a dragonfly, who would have thunk....roflmao:
nice catch spiderman!
Just found this thread. Love it. The frog hanging out looks like he is saying "Can't a guy get a little privacy around here?" Very, very nice photos. Let's keep this thread going!
I missed my Praying Mantis this year. We usually have one around for the summer. What a cool bug! I usually play hide and seek with them. I go out of their visual path and come back in watching their heads move towards you. Every way I move they heads follow me.
Very Cool bug!
I just got to page 8 and loved each and every insect and frog you posted. My heart belongs to Mr. Froggie. I have particpated in frog survey here since 1997. Such cool little critters.
What great pictures you take. Thank you for the many many pictures
