Thanks Terry...I was wondering if it was a species

So now I have a schizo plant??? lol Too funny! As it was a cutting I'm not sure that it's a grafted piece...it looks normal. Guess it's genes are kinda confused or something. That uranium outback must be acting up again...

I wondered if it was male and female flowers on one plant but not sure how that works and if Hibiscus had specific gender flowers. but looks like you have an ID for it, it sure is pretty.

Connie that is so odd! They are on the same plant? Maybe two of the cuttings grafted together? Very cool!!! Thanks, Terry, glad to know the actual name of the lacey one.

I volunteer at botanical greenhouse on my campus and I remember pruning that guy about two months ago while giggling at the latin name. Many hybrid hibiscuses are grafted onto the H. schizopetalus as a root stock (since it is so vigorous in growth).

I was thinking what if you got a little piece of the H. schizopetalus rootstock on your hybrid hibiscus cutting or visa versa? Kind of what happened with Laburnocytisus adamii when it was accidentally created. Or your plant is just crazy
