    Default Tillandsias & Bromeliads

    Mabuhay!

I am almost sure those who loves orchids, would always certainly have a liking to this another unique and very very interesting group of airplants. Just want to share with you folks my few airplants. As much as i want to have additions but again prices seems to be a deterrent on my part.

this duo is in full-sun almost everyday

Please do add pics of the said plants here and i would also like to know how you take care of it. Currently, i am trying to build a wall of broms and soon i'll put up pictures of it here.

    Enjoy.

I like the fact that you can put tillandsias in a tree outside and they would grow ...
    Lucky you!

Nice plants. We grow a few different broms and there are posts of them in this section somewhere.

    Cheers,

Nice plants, Mojamoja. One of the deterents for me is their size .... many beautiful broms simply get far too large for my apt.

Talking its a work in progress

    Mabuhay!

This is my current brom-wall. Most of these were salvaged from neglect and forlorn-attitude i developed back then but i've got to thank my sister because while i was not in my "plant-mood" for a very long-time she was the one who kept this beauties. and also, my friend "frosted-eyes" who kept bugging/asking/inquiring me about his orchid-addiction err collection somehow helped jump-start my enthusiasm/love towards this hobby again. Of course, being a new member on this website and by seeing again the collection and the passion most of you folks have has helped me tremendously to get it all back again. My hats-off to you people! thank you.

I am in the process again of acquiring simple very cheap bromeliads (yes, i want those exotic-looking ones but the prices are really beyond my spending capacity.....yup even the pups hehehe) to add to this collection.

The broms will soon change to shades of red since they were kept in a shaded place. I choose this spot because it gets a lot of sunlight and to liven things up in the garage. I mostly use charcoals and special potting mixes for broms. So i will update you guys as this develops. (keeping my fingers-crossed though)

Comments whether bad or good are always welcome.

    Godbless

    PS
just to let you folks know why i lost my gusto on this hobby it was because of someone very close to my heart decided to cut down the trees i nurtured since 1985 including some of my precious plants. His reason was to give-way for lawn-grasses. But i guess, i am really back again.

    Default just another simple update

    Mabuhay!

Just wanna share some of my plants again :

the current state of my fern wall: on the extreme left my ribbon fern is dying. I'll be adding some ferns soon. There are also some plants in there to break the monotony like the friendship plant and begonias.

this one never fails to amaze me. Anyway, do you think folks that this is a climbing rose? its quite different from the other roses that i have.

As you can see, this bougainvillea is running amok. i don't want to cut it severely as i am afraid it might not bloom for a long-time. What can i do folks?

    till then...

It does look very much like a climbing rose that I have. Try giving it a support to climb on and see. It is beautiful!

Wonderful collection of plants. I love bromeliads but they are expensive here too.
