Gin, I have had one of these( but a different cult.), for many years...I have it at my office where it gets flour.light all day, but very little natural light...it seems to love it there for it has blossumed ( not worth it though )...I have never even repotted it and only water it when I might remember...but still it loves me...my cousin gave it to me, from a rooting she took from hers that she has had for 50 years...(it was her mothers), when it gets too tall she wraps the stalk with pet. and starts new roots, cuts it down and starts all over again...like, the never ending plant.

HAHA Good one!! I had a varigated dif many years ago. My kitty son chewed a leaf (about 3 bite marks) once. His poor face swelled up and he was so hot. he just purred and purred - you (cat lovers) know like they do when they are hurting. I thought a wasp had stung him. Doc did not have to treat him because he didn't actually eat the leaf, and the swelling went down within about 12 hours. Poor baby. He never went near the plant again but I still got rid of it. They do make beautiful house plants and are wonderful oxygen/CO2 exchangers - but do watch out for your pets!
