I had a great idea!! Bruce has already had one book published - How great would be it be to collect photos and memoirs from all the great orchid/plant hunters on this site. I realize everyone would have to contribute at length but honestly, it could be a bestseller in the orchid world. Bruce....You should think about this, truly.

Thanks Cathy, Peter and Ron. Another story concerns our encounter with a herd of elephants but I shall relate that in a thread I'm contemplating starting some time.

@Zainal : Sorry for hijacking your thread.

Hi Cathy thanks for the questions, Yew go on I really love your story very interesting for the younger generation like me to know from the senior their invaluable experience in their life, I always see Platycerium in the wild but they are very huge and are the place where the insects such as ants, centepede and others including small snake live in their fronds. Here I attached my Platycerium andinum from South America(Second photo) and the first photo is Platycerium coronaria which native to Malaysia. Both of them growing on the Rambutan tree infront of my house.,ATTACH=CONFIG]52398[/ATTACH]Name: 2.jpg

P1 I was amazed the atmosphere of primary forest so cool and calm can here birds sing and song including the lovely cicadas and crickets. The tall tree more than 50 meter are the places where orchids grow happily there.
P2 I focused this tree look something that promising us orchids hanging on one of the branch.
P3 Wow......... so many orchids there sorry cannot focus further ....fantastic ....I'm hoping if some of those orchids drop in front of me.Dream that never happen he.he.he.
P4 Again one of the Coelogyne species very odd looking never seen before wandering what is it.
