Wild orchids

This is a discussion on Wild orchids within the The Jungle forums, part of the Land Plants category; they are all so difficult to grow...i've been told that cuttings are close to impossible ...

    Ronan, I don't thik so. My friend has many Bulbophyllum of the section epicrianthes and they are doing very well. In Thailand, in the forest, I saw many big plants.

    if i understood him well, rogier van V. explain me that you can't divid them. you have to grow them from seed or collect the "base" of the plants.

    I agree with you even the hanging pseudobulb hardly can see any aerial roots.

    I saw few Paphs all over in certain location even some of them in buds I'm so excited to see them growing in the wild I feel cool and difficult to express my emotion cause I thought this species almost extinct as a result due to over collected.

    I was very very lucky as I moved further few more plants has wonderful buds and the most wonderful moment when one of them in full bloom, how beautiful are they I'm really in shock for short a while and subsequently smile, he,he.

    Thanks for the pictures, Zainal. I think I know where that area is. It is very heartening to see that there are still pockets of them surviving in the wild.

    I found new Plocoglottis species which I never seen before the length of the plant more than 3 feet including the inflorescence too growing near waterfall in Selangor the lower petals folded backward.
