Hoya mindorensis

    Hmm! wonder why they call them 'hoyas'. It sounds like the word 'joyas' in spanish, which means "jewels". They kind of look like jewels don't you think?

    Thanks Gabriel, no idea why the name Hoya, but I do agree they look like jewels indeed.

    Sounds like a corruption of that word 'joyas' These are found in the Philippines ae? And for a period, the 'pines were occupied by Spain? Makes perfect sense now!
