Default Dionaea muscipula - three clones

    "Akai Ryu" (Red Dragon):

"Red Piranha" is a popular Venus Flytrap clone that has mostly red leaves and a fearsome looking trap.

"Trichterfalle", also known as "Funnel Trap," is a bizarre Venus Fly trap that grows traps which are fused together at the inner margins where the trap connects to the rest of the leaf. This fusing creates an interesting and odd looking trap like no other flytrap produces. Trichterfalle also occasionally has "scaling" on the leaves which gives them a rough, sand paper-like appearance at certain times of the year.

The scaling and "funnel traps" aren't 100% stable year round, meaning that it also produces quite a few normal traps, but the odd traps for which the plant is named are usually produced a few times throughout the growing season.

Amazing photos and amazing plants! I had a venus flytrap for YEARS before it finally had the misfortune of eating a few lightningbugs which ultimately did it in... shame. But yours are absolutely amazing!

Nice vft's, Thomas! Mine bit the dust this year when I took it out of dormancy. Ah well, fortunately the type I had is commonly available.

Those are very cool pictures! I've been tempted to buy a couple from time to time. How do you take care of them?

Thomas you have such an amazing ability at growing all kinds of unique plants. Your skill as a photographer is outstanding as well. Love the detail shots of this plants strange 'traps'.

    cheers,
    BD
