Hmm, so what am I?

    Unfortunately, Zainal, this is a case wherein looks are deceiving. The fruits -- particularly at this stage -- are poisonous. (Though my understanding is that yellow ripe fruits can be eaten safely in small quantities.) This plant is a member of the nightshade family which does include many poisonous members as well as tomatoes and peppers.

    so i'm wrong for this but i believe they're from the same family.from the family name i search by thai name and googles show such a name..i also have in my backyard right now similar like this.you need to pick up when it's still bright green.in thailand we put it in a green curry together with another eggplant./kitty

    i started searching for this "solanum" families and found that they have about 1500 species.here's the picture about the fruit that i'm talking.

    congratulation for the winner.i'm wrong for this but they look alike but still in they're the same family.this one is poisonous but mine is good for cooking.we put it in green curry together with another eggplant.

    you ask me about the name.i search it from thai name and google came out such a name.

    Crabs don't come in panicles, I think. But the thorns give it away ( and led me into error ! ) . But I'm not sure if its a fair question to anyone who has to guess at the flora of Michigan !
