Default Preparing for the Cold Front

I would like to think that we won't have to do this again in the coming months but who knows.
Mr Hicks built me a collapsible rack so we can get them all undercover during cold weather. We put them under the covered patio and he will fire up the Big Green Egg to keep them warmer over night. Tomorrow night they are calling for 33 deg. with winds.

Aahhh... the best time ever to be in Yuma, Arizona... It was nearly 80 today (26 C).

I wish everyone the very best who is battling cold weather.

We're expecting temps to dip into the low 30's to possibly mid 20's tonight, and low 20's tomorrow night, (say it ain't so!) Everything that isn't firmly in the ground has been taken in, including the tortoises, of course! I'll post a pic of the pretty crowded lanai, when I get a chance.
    Best,
    Tony

While complaining about the cold weather coming in here today, I suddenly realized that "cold" is a relative term. As a native New Englander, bringing in the plants at the beginning of January has always been beyond my imaginings - I'm thinking back on the frozen tundra I lived in for 40+ years and feeling rather fortunate....

It's crazy weatherwise here in New England. It's warmer than Florida! The 31st was warm and so foggy I couldn't see Boston on the horizon which meant that I would not be able to see the fireworks at midnight. But about 10:30 PM it cleared up and I was treated to a great display from the comfort of my kitchen chair. I was weeding in the garden yesterday. We are supposed to have two days of below freezing cold this week, Pavel's weather I believe, without the snow. So far only 1 inch of snow has fallen this winter which is fine by me since I'm still on lifting restriction with my shoulder.
