Unfortunately sphagnum moss is not available in these parts, my environment is a bit on the moist side, I may have to make do with coconut husk. What you're seeing it in is a mix of sand, perlite and peat, which is lighter than the local clay based soil it was bought it in. That's the mix I have this one in

This is my first begonia, over a year old, but I guess this new one is going to need a bit more babying to recover. Thanks for the advice, will go get right on it.

Man, I have a lot to learn. I just know it as a lettuce leaf begonia, but does this mean B. Crestabruchi is a hybrid?

Does it flower? So far all mine has done is ...well grow. I love the leaves, but I have yet to see a single flower. I'm under the impression that they won't be spectacular, I haven't seen pictures of them in bloom on line but I would feel like I've done right by it if I can get it to flower.

Yes, it flowers. All begonias flowers. If I remember correctly they are pink blooms in little bouquets. This is an old hybrid and always very nice.

So the same fert I use for the orchids would work? I have blossom booster, 20-20-20 and a regular 24-8-16 that I use on different plants here, which would be the best bet to use to get it to flower? How often and strong to give it?
