    Default Trip to a waterfall

    It is now the rainy season but despite that we had decided to visit a not so difficult trail to a waterfalls. The ground was slippery due to the loose muddy ground. There are orchids visible to our eyes but it was too high for a close up shot. I only had a point and shoot camera, but decided to return another day specially for the orchids.

    Schismatoglottis was one particular plant type with many varieties related to streams and waterfalls.

    a common ginger - globba astrosanguinea


    beautiful tree fern


    Along the edge of the waterfalls and mid of the stream a residence of aquatic plants of the airoid family were pound abundantly. They have strong roots and adapted very well to the swift and strong water currents.

    This species has very attractive red stems and slight red tinge on the underside of leaves.





    It's also fruitng season in Borneo and we stumbled upon some durians, the flesh suppliments part of our lunch.

    Those red stemmed plants are Cryptocornes, very famous in the aquarium trade. Very beautiful waterfall and that tree fern is simply amazing !
