water hyacinth

    Default water hyacinth

    usually i took water hyacinth to my pond in the garden, but here in Germany, no way to see flowers. This year I've been keeping one plant in my greehouse and became speachless, seeing such beautiful flower.

    these are beautiful, here in Florida the canals become choked with this, but a beautiful sight in bloom, nice job

    Ed, not only in Florida, even it became, in Asia, a invasive plant.

    I love water hyacinth plants, but I have heard that they take over.

    Beautiful but it chokes our rivers and waterways. The larvae of the mosquito that carries the horrible disease Elephantiasis thrive among the roots of this water hyacinth.
