Default Hoya carnosa ... not in bloom but why not?

Been a while since I last posted a photo of the old girl, but since I had the camera out I figure "What the heck? May as well." So here she is, Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen'.

Really rather slays me that I get more growth on this one than off of my Hoya mindorensis when the mindorensis doesn't even have the handicap of so many useless (from a photosynthesis standpoint) leaves that this plant does.

I don't know why she doesn't bloom, but I do know I want to get some pictures of my Rope Hoya (I don't know its "real" name) to share. It's been a happy bloomer for some time now, it's in a South kitchen window. I just noticed it's a little sunburned, but it sure does bloom! Maybe you need more light?

BTW, when I was in my 20's my parents had a huge window in the basement and a giant hoya covering it. I believe it had green leaves with silvery freckles and bloomed for them. The window was probably 8' across and it went up one side and down the other and covered about half the window! I guess you can see where I got my love of plants!

I will just reiterate the obvious and suggest more light and possibly less nitrogen fertilizer. The plant sure has handsome foliage.

Oh it does bloom for me off and on. This just happens to be one of the off times. Any areas of higher light go for my cacti/succulents and orchids. Then too, I don't know if higher light would have a damaging effect on the white leaves.

Since it does bloom and looks great, I agree, just leave it where it is. Seems to me I had one that looked a lot like that about 30 years ago.
