Lightbulb Hoya in bloom for April 2015

Hoya carnosa. I do love the perfect little blooms. What a cool plant. I recommend getting one if you have room. They seem fairly easy to grow and I expect will probably get large eventually.

    Lovely white blooms!

I have a hoya plant too and would love it to bloom but while it has a lot of leaves, no blooms! It gets lots of light (which I understand is the key issue for blooming) so I'm curious to know if it's just a matter of time or if I'm doing something wrong...

As this is the first one I have ever grown, I can only guess. Maybe your plant is not mature enough to bloom. The hoya I have in bloom is a pretty large plant. But it does get lots of sunlight, you are correct. The leaves on ours seem to stay dark green though. I may need to increase the amount of light I'm giving the one we have.

    Good luck to you!

    cheers,

nice color, congrats. some seem to bloom at a smaller size while others need some size before they bloom. I had one that bloomed for me in a 6" pot and have one now that didn't bloom until it got to be quite large, sometimes the blooms have a very pleasant scent
