    Default new orchids & such

    Hi ya'll
As expected, when I repotted the Merry Green Taida, 3 of the 4 buds blasted But, the 4th is doing very well & taking it's sweet time to bloom, my daughter's 3 buds bloomed & smelled wonderful!!! Everything else survived repotting, but are still working on their buds & spikes All my other orchids are doing great, either putting out new growth, spiking or blooming
Most of the land plants I put in the ground are doing poorly because of the drought, but we had a nice steady rain yesterday & last night... so we'll see what happens. I've put off planting my plants that are in containers until I know we'll get some good rain to substain them, so I still have my trumpet trees & plumerias. I planted 10 white orchid tree seeds in seed pots 2 weeks ago & they are all sprouting!!
    Bored yet?? LOL
I found 3 little plants with blue flowers that look like miniature morning glories under my bird feeder... gifts from the birds' poo or wayward seeds in the bird seed? I saw similar plants in New Mexico, but the flowers were white & considered weeds, hmmmm........
ok, enough for now... thanks for letting me ramble
    Valerie

    Default shade house update

    Hi Ya'll
We've still been working on my shadehouse. Hubby put in another bench with a sink & hose connection last weekend & today we put down pole borders with mulch outside.

    Thanks BD
Nothing like my old yard, but it's getting there..... slowly
I also realized that in my first post on this thread I said we were putting house on market in October '06... ROFL!!!
We just got it on the market last week, that's how much work we had to do on it!!! I tried clearing out the backyard, but cutting stuff down that I've been growing for so long just didn't seem right. Our realtor's going along with my idea to put name tags on the plants to correspond with a pamphlet inside the house with plant info.
New owners may cut down everything, but at least I tried......

Why would people want to get rid of an established garden? That's a major selling point over here. Obviously you'll want to put some stuff you like in, but most people love the idea of coming in and seeing plants that thrive in their conditions.

    Default House sold !!

We finally sold the house & guess what ????? She loved my backyard !! She has 2 older teens & her 3 grandchildren that she adopted & loves that they'll have a shady backyard to play in
They were renting before & the youngest grandchild (2) almost drowned twice in the pool where they lived!
She loves that there's a yard here for the kids without a pool & I'm so glad we never put one in
I really hope she gets to bring up her grandchildren in that house & since she loves the yard I'm going to send her all the info about all the plants & hopefully she can teach the kids some horticulture

    Congratulations!

While reading this I kept thinking, "Tell the realtor to jump off and that if the new owners want to change or remove the garden, then they should do it themselves..."

    I'm glad your realtor comprimised!
