I'm sorry to hear that you are tiring easily - but I am pleased that you have such a supportive family. A great deal can be accomplished when you have such support.

    Best wishes to you both

    Default Cool...

I've never seen these plants in person, just pictures of them...

It must be way too hot in Texas for these plants.

I am feeling better although I tire easily. I guess oxygen is a permanent thing for me, so I am limited by where I can go. At home I have a 50 foot hose that allows me to go most everywhere in the house. (I get tangled in it all the time) When I leave the house I have portable oxygen that goes with me. My family has provided an aide for me that is here from 8:00 to 12:00. She is great to take me shopping (wherever there is a cart) to the doctor etc. Yesterday we took a long drive which my husband and I really enjoyed. I haven't driven for months and Clyde no longer drives. I think that has been the hardest adjustment for me. But, I count my blessings as I adjust to a new chapter in my life.

I had a patient that used to say "It's a bitch getting old" I always responded."It sure beats the second choice" Sounds like you have a good attitude and that is more than half the battle. Good luck!!

Thanks Ron, I must remind my 87 year old husband often of that very thing.
I have 24 grandchildren who encourage me and see that I have everything I need and more. And, I have three sons who are very supportive. I am so blessed.

Those woodland beauties are like a miracle--so green and fresh and pretty rising out of the leaf mould around them.

Katie--I live at high altitude (~9000') and it is fairly routine to see folks out and about with their oxygen tanks. Looks like a pain to haul that equipment around, but better than having to stay home I guess! Are you able to take care of your orchids at all or does that fall to your helpers? It's nice to have you back; we miss you when you aren't around.

Mehera......Actually I am now able to care for my orchids. They did suffer a lot of neglect for awhile. Someone must have gotten water into the crown of one my phals because it turned brown (very dry though) and lost the two top leaves. Yesterday when I watered it there was a keiki growing from the base. I am hoping the rest will survive with some TLC.
