Default Blast it! Aphids have discovered my hibiscus!

Of course the vermin waited until temps had started to get to the point in which I should be bringing it inside. Made it all summer out on my 3rd floor balconey w/ nary a problem.

Sprayed it w/ a systemic today but it'll have to stay outside for now. Unfortunately, temps will be in the 40's overnight and even by day only in the 50's. There's no place I can isolate it in my apartment from all my other plants. Guess I'll discover just how 'tough' this guy is....

It will handle the 40's. Just do not let it freeze. If you think you will get a frost, cover it with a sheet and it will be fine.

Regular old alcohol works really well on those nasty little aphids. I have had tropical hibiscus outside with temps as low as 33 with no problems. In Fort Worth, ours bloom until about Thanksgiving...

Bayer Rose and Flower Spray works well and you can bring the plant inside shortly after spraying.

I know those darn bugs really stink (this is happening with a few of our outdoor houseplants this year)....but think how awful if the infestation had been small....and they snuck into the house with the plant and infested more than just the hibiscus!!!
This is what is really scaring me as we slowly move our large collection into the house for the winter!

There is that. Currently, it has undergone a lot of leaf drop. Whether that is due to the cold it experienced, the systemic or both I don't know. The newer smaller leaves seem to be hanging in there.

Now just have to find a way to get rid of the %^$^%$%^ bush snails that are still infesting my large terr.
