    Nice!

I've given up on growing any of the Hipps as anything but a disposable plant -- can NEVER get them to rebloom no matter whose directions I try.

This is a perennial species, no dormancy needed to rebloom.

Ron, is that in bloom for you now? Cool! Everything here - besides the orchids in the gh- is all gray and colorless. I have a red Amaryllis that blooms in the spring with huge blooms like this, but it is not this pretty. I love it.

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce, yes it is currently blooming. I planted 3 bulbs in the pot, maybe 4 years ago. There are 5 now. Another bulb bloomed last summer for me.This is the first year that I moved it into the greenhouse in the fall. I usually keep it in front of a west slider at home. This is the first time it has bloomed in the winter.

Lovely, and, yes, definitely looks like an amaryllis too. Are the flowers as big as amaryllis flowers?

it is a bit taller and narrower in the flower than a typical Amaryllis
