1T olive oil
1 med. onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 large green pepper, diced
2lbs. ground beef
2-15 oz. cans of tomato sauce
1/2 cup green olives, pitted and chopped
3T. capers
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
4T. Worcestershire sauce
4T. vinegar
salt and black pepper to taste
Heat the oil in a skillet and add the onion. Saute until the onion is golden, about 15 minutes. Add the garlic and green pepper and saute gently for 5 minutes. Add the beef, breaking it up into small pieces as it browns. Add tomato sauce and mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until meat is cooked through and flavors blend (about 15 min.). Taste for seasoning, adding more vinegar and worcestershire sauce if necessary. This dish best served over rice, or chopped boiled potatoes.
