Just thought I'd share some of the pictures for my recent holiday/visit home to the Netherlands.
One thing I have to brag about is my mom's award from the Queen for her volunteer work over the past decades.
and another set
and the last one.
Wonderful photos, Richard! Did you happen to get one of you taking in the beautiful surroundings while on holiday as well? I would love to see it too! Is that a tulip tree in post 3 photo 1? It is really something!
Wonderful shots. I was so blown away by the masterpieces of the Reichtag museum, and so amazed by how many bicycles are everywhere. Of course, I suppose flat and sea level is about perfect bicycle conditions! Congratulations to your mother for her award and her life time of service.
Bruce, I did of course take pictures of my wife and I, but my wife has forbidden me to post such pictures online as she has had a bad experience with it before. Needless to say I want to honour her wishes and it's definately nothing against all the wonderful people here on the board.
I'm not sure what kind of tree it is, it's just so pretty.
Lynda, there were places with many more bicycles. After being away from the Netherlands for 4 years I can understand it's very difficult to get used to driving your car around with all those bicycles and bicycle streets you'd have to wattch out for. It's almost as difficult to get used to as driving on the left side of the street.
Beautiful pictures and another nudge to visit this wonderful country. Thanks for sharing your holiday Richard.
oh and congratulations to your mum for her great voluntary work!
Great photos. I think the tree is a magnolia of some sort. The award is very impressive (and very well deserved)
Congrats to your mother!
Looks like a fun trip full of great architecture. Did you do any orchid hunting while you were there?
