    Default Fawns on the beach

Playing hookie today, went to the beach and snapped pictures of 3 fawns following their mother in the dunes . How adorable!
On a side note, I had no idea that a doe (a deer, a female deer ..) could have 3 babies in a litter.

Want to see deer? Go to upper Michigan, find some back roads until you see a huge field of corn then sit and watch the parade! lol In the upper peninsula you have to be careful not to hit one, they are everywhere. Even the suburbs of Detroit have stories about them jumping through someones window or ones walked into a store every now and then.....I'd never saw one at the beach before though.

Now that blasted song is hung in my head again...lol! They are so cute. It is true, a deer can have up to 3 kids at a time. Glad you got away to the beach. Playing hookie is important to keep clarity!

    Cheers,
    BD

I used to deer watch when I would go birding in early May out on Watch Hill, Fire Island.

I took those pictures on the western tip of Fire Island, near the lighthouse.

Great photos! I just missed a deer on the road near us a couple of years ago. I had no idea we had them round here, gave me quite a fright. It's open arable land, not much cover.
