    Thumbs up

It seems he had success, because the colour of his head, neck and chest throw him over the bridge. I love it!

Is he allowed to walk/fly around freely around the house? He's so cute!

He can't really fly because I keep his wings clipped (I learned my lesson after my first African Grey flew out and never got him back) but he walks around the house when he's out of his cage. We also don't know if it's a he or a she, I just assumed she's a female because she is so in love with my son and follows him wherever he goes.

No Becky, he does not eat watermelon. But my 2 African Grey does.

    Thanks everybody,

Actually, females are quite easy to recognize by the behavior. I don't know how old yours is, but if you have had it a couple years you should know by now. They have to be "of age" so to speak for this to show, but females cut "feathers" out of any paper at hand for making their nest and they will be very active at finding some nesting area.

My brother's female started doing that quite young and chewed up any paper in sight in the process. Unfortunately, they also get very territorial as a result of the nesting desire so she is quite bitey and no longer walks around on her own. She also started laying eggs, so that's a sure sign of female! She also enjoy cranberry juice!

Well, I just did a little experiment. I gave him a piece of paper, he kind of chewed on it but not shred it into pieces like those lovebirds I see on TV. He just bit the edges of the paper. I have him for a couple of years now, but has not laid any eggs, although he gets territorial when he's in his cage but only if I'm the one trying to getting him out. My son has no problem getting him out of his cage and always try to run away from me soon as he sees my son.
